"If you think you are beaten you are, If you think you dare not, you don't If you like to win, but think you can't, It is almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost, For out of the world, we find, Success begins with a fellow's will It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are, You've got to think high to rise You've got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go, To the stronger or faster man, But soon or late, the man who wins, Is the man Who Thinks He Can." Walter D. Wintle
It is amazing how powerful our mind truly is. It literally has the power to hold you in bondage or free you; most important though is that you decide which it does. What we think about ourselves is who we will become. What we focus our mind on is he direction we will go. What type of thoughts we think will determine our perspective on life. What we think of our situation will determine how we feel about it; which will influence, how we respond to it. Our mind is truly the seat of power and with it, we can do anything. I think the example of the Tower of Babel proves this point. They were deter;mined in their minds to make a tower all the way to Heaven, and God knew that because they had set their mind to it, they would accomplish it. I think this is why we are given so many Biblical commands about controlling our minds even to the point of being given a list of things to think about in Philippians 4:8.
I have heard our mind described as a garden with the most fertile soil in the world. If we are careless, just weeds will grow, but if we are circumspect, we can have a beautiful garden. Truly the choice is ours. We have such a powerful tool in our possession, yet many fail to realize, therefore they let their mind grow as it will. If only we could realize how great a power we could wield if we controlled out mind.
When I first started Empower/ Ipas, part of my daily action plan included 15 minutes of reading and 15 minutes of audio. I was given a huge list of books and audios that would be helpful as well as access to an amazing resource called the Inner Circle. I was told not to neglect this part of my action plan as it was vital to my success. To be honest, I didn't understand why it was so important, but I did it because my mentor told me too, and I trusted him. Wow, looking back only after three months, and I see the incredible difference it makes! Mindset is truly the number one cause most people can't make it in life. Learning to daily challenge your mind, give it food to grow, and continuing to control what you allow yourself to dwell on changes your life, literally. I honestly, wouldn't have believed it, if you would have told me this. I had to experience it for myself.
Today, I challenge you for the next 90 days read 15 minutes a day and listen to 15 minutes of audio. I started with the John Maxwell books, Think and Grow Rich, Crush It, and The Four Hour Workweek. They all have tons of helpful information, lessons to learn, and actions to take. If you are looking for audio, the Inner Circle audio is definitely a useful tool. I would love to hear your results and how far you have come! :)
