Welcome to day 5 of our Pinterest Challenge! Today we will be seting some goals for your business. Setting goals is extremely important in your business, but this last week I learned something revolutionary about goals that I wanted to share with you. I have been listening to Charlene Johnson’s podcast, Build Your Tribe, on a daily basis, and it is incredible how much I have learned! You really need to check her out
Today, I am going to outline something that I learned from her podcast about setting a thirty day goal for your business. You can click here to listen to the podcast.
- Brainstorm a huge list of everything that makes your business grow, more subscribers, clients, product sales etc.
What activity have you done in the past that has really produced the most clients or product sales?
After you have a list of ideas, we are going to narrow it down by asking this question, “If you could only do one of the things on your list this month, what would it be?”
- Create a Measurable 30 day goal
This is where I have been hung up before. We are not making goals like the following:
- Land 30 clients by the end of the month
- Make 1k this month
- Double my email subscribers
These types of goals are focusing on the end result and not the activity that it took to get there. You found the activity that brings in the most money in step one.
Now instead of focusing on the end result we are going to focus on the activity. How much can you do this activity every week? For example, Charlene’s income producing activity was creating video content, so she committed to producing ten videos a week.
- Reverse Engineer What That Activity Will Take
If you are writing a bog article every day for a month, having a list of good keyword ideas already written into your editorial calendar would be something to do. Also you would want to create a Pinterest board of a ton of research articles related to those keywords, so when you are ready to write the article, you have the information at your fingertips. You may also compile a list of images that are also related to be used in each post.
So what will it take for you to get that income producing activity on the road to success?
- Find An Accountability Partner
It is really motivating to have someone else asking you if you got your mission accomplished. Or maybe this is just me :) I have the privilege of having a bi-weekly mastermind with other business minded friends, and at the end, we commit to having a certain things done by the next meeting. I will stay up late and work super hard because I can’t bear the thought of telling them that I didn’t finish what I promised I would. I know I was the class pet growing up and very proud of it. :) lol
Today’s challenge is to go through these four steps and determine what your monthly goal is. When you have done that, click here and let us know in the Facebook group what your goal is so that we can help keep you accountable. :)
